Surprise Jewellery Weligama ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Finding this hidden gem in Weligama was hands down one of the best highlights of my trip to Sri Lanka! If I could give them 10 stars out of 5, I would do it in a heartbeat. From the moment you walk into the workshop, you are welcomed with genuine warmth, incredible hospitality, and true Sri Lankan friendliness. The craftsmanship here is absolutely exceptional. The artisans are master jewelers who pay meticulous attention to every tiny detail, whether you are picking out a ready-made piece, choosing from their stunning selection of local gemstones, or having a custom piece made from scratch. I had a custom piece designed, and the entire process was seamless, fascinating, and transparent. Watching them bring an idea to life with such skill and passion was unforgettable. The quality of the silver/gold and the stones is top-tier, the prices are extremely fair, and there is zero pressure to buy—just honest, dedicated artists who love what they do. If you are anywhere near Weligama, Ahangama, or Mirissa, do not miss this spot. Could not recommend this place more. I was incredibly well looked after with coffee and food but the best part was doing the workshop and getting to make you on rings. They also get the certificate so you know what they say is what you get Whatever the design you have in mind, they can make it. The craftsmanship was amazing and the patience and kindness shown by the people was unforgettable. Such an amazing experience, a fair price and great company - what more could you ask for! I will be coming back when I’m next in Sri Lanka 100% Thank you so much everyone ❤️

Incredible experience! Here you can make your handmade ring, the process is completely manual, so expect to have really authentic and one-of-a-kind result. I first wanted one design, but then so another and they let me do it in the middle of the process. All the guys are real professional and do very precise job, they care about the result you get, they sit there in the heat all day to make you satisfied with what you get in the end. Price is 15k per 7g silver, and stones are from 5k depending on the size, and for what you get this is super cheep. One but. I didn’t want to put less starts, since I genuinely think this place deserves 5 starts, but there is something you need to keep in mind. If you don’t come early in the morning, be prepared to stay there the whole day. They start at about 9 I think and people who were first left the place at around 1-2 pm, but we had reservation at 11:30 and it took ages to get our ring. The process is completely unoptimized and sometimes you wait sooooo long for the next stage just because this process is not fast and so many people come that you just need to wait. I guess it would be better to limit number of people to 7-10 maximum per day, otherwise you get sooo exhausted, can’t imagine how the jewelers who do it the whole day 6 days per week feel. Eg we came at 11:30 and left for dinner at 17:30 and left our ring since it was not ready, and came to pick it up at 19:30. All in all - great experience, come in the morning, if they offer you later, choose another day, and be ready to spend 4-5 hours, take some food and water.

We had such a great experience at this workshop. You get to see every step of the process and can participate in many of them. The staff is really supportive and makes sure you end up with exactly the ring you have in mind. They truly listen to your wishes and guide you throughout the whole process. They also provided snacks and Drinks. We made two rings, one of them with two sapphire stones, which took about 5 hours since it’s more detailed work. The price depends on the stones you choose, but considering the craftsmanship and effort, it’s absolutely justified. Highly recommended - thank you to the whole team☺️

Definitely recommend this jewellery making workshop the team are so kind and their attention to detail is amazing. They work very hard and take pride in their work. The workshop was cool and spacious and we were given tasty complimentary mango smoothies and coffee. Second jewellery workshop I have been to in Sri Lanka and this succeeds the last massively the quality of work and the atmosphere. My family and I couldn’t be happier with our rings. We made them from scratch, design, mould, filing, stone setting thank you so much x
